Coloring book & crayon tote

I like to enter blog giveaways and I have some pretty good luck. In April, I entered a contest at Lil Blue Boo for some Sadie James patterns. And I WON! And I was pretty excited. Here is the first pattern I tried out - the Coloring Book & Crayon Tote.

The directions were perfect, very easy to follow. I even cheated and didn't use any fusible fleece. I also didn't have any webbing for the handles so I used the lining fabric. It came together quickly and I finished the project in one night. (OK, almost one night.)

In the picture above, it looks nice but felt that you could really see my uneven stitches in the purple thread, so I decided to embellish it a bit.

The addition of a couple flower were the perfect embellishment.

Here is the final product fully stocked with crayons, colored pencils and coloring books. My son picked out the fabrics since it was going to be used as a birthday gift for a girl in his class. The other parents commented - that is great, where did you buy it?? :-)
