My mom is awesome (and I probably don't say it enough). She has always been crafty and has been sewing her whole life. (I'm sure she learned in home ec class back in the day.) She also has given a good home to all of my grandmother's crafting & sewing supplies including her old Kenmore sewing machine. As a kid, my mom even signed me up for Arts & Crafts classes at a tiny neighborhood craft store because she knew how much I'd like it. Many times I have heard her say - let me borrow xyz, I can make that! Now she tells me - that's so easy, you could make that!
So it was only fitting that I make my mom something for Mother's Day. She knew what (store-bought) gift she wanted from my sister and I. In addition to the store-bought gift I made her one of the adorable Ribbon & Pearl necklaces that I found over at Moore Babies. I also included 2 satin rosette pins to put on the necklace or use elsewhere. (Mom's is the black necklace with the red rosette. I also made her a black rosette too.)
Of course I had to make myself one too (a Mother's day gift for myself) - the blue with white polka dots and a white rosette.
Happy belated Mother's Day - hope it was a good one! BTW - my kids/husband wanted to get me flowers and/or chocolates for Mother's Day. I said that I appreciated the thought, but I'd really like a gift card to Joann's AND I got exactly what I asked for!!! Love them!
